When the clock strikes Midnight

*Update* – Spoiler Alert…

I’ve finished the audiobook.. I think it was great.. it would make one heck of a movie, especially with todays technology, a couple of techno regressive(s) could take over the globe in moments – hydro, flights, banks, they could hijack the world electronically and then physically. I loved the story because it had elements of romance, suspense, cosmic horror, and comedy; definitely not one dimensional. But the most human element of the story was the possible redemption of Sam’s son – fueled by hate, rage, no love – Sam finally was there when his son needed him most, and the intervention proved Sam’s love, it was the most beautiful part of the story.

Midnight is the name of a horror suspense novel, in this case – audiobook that was written by Dean Koontz.

I’m listening to it via Audible, and I’m probably about halfway through it. It is so good, the main characters are undercover FBI agent Sam Booker, Tessa Lockland Wildlife Documentary filmmaker, and Chrissie Foster who plays a young child that is in major trouble.

The self dialog that Chrissie has in her head is fantastically funny 😁, I love it… there is a lot going on in the story, it certainly shows what can happen when men try to play God.

I don’t really do the horror genre but it is so well written, more like very deep dread and suspense vs graphic gore.

I don’t want to give too much away, I feel sorry for Loman Watkins – he is integral to the story and is a good man caught in terrible circumstances beyond his control.

This story, especially Chrissie’s internal dialog is so fresh and funny that I have to give this a 9 out of 10 so far. If you have any interest in the suspense genre – do yourself a favor and get a copy of this audiobook and let me know what you thought of it.

Audible is 99 cents per month for 3 months and you get a free credit to get this audiobook, so you have nothing to lose!
