Going way back to my grandparents time – here is a retro pic of Blumenort school from 1940.

I remember when I was a kid and my parents would drive past Blumenort to and from Winnipeg. There was a Mexican (i think) restaurant just a short bit into the town on the south side. If any of you remember what it was called – please reply to this post. It had a fire and after that it shutdown. I always told myself that I’d never live in this town because it smelled terrible driving past…lol.

It was like chicken barn central and everything reeked… well a lot has changed since then and now we have a least 2 restaurants in town – Home Town Grill near Youth for Christ (The Mill) and Grandpa’s cafe by PBX.
