Home Town Grill & Christmas
The Home Town Grill restaurant is a local favorite for sure, Blumenort doesn’t have a lot of restaurants but this one is a keeper.
One of my favourite dishes is the chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes and gravy. It’s made exceptionally well and you get 3pc of the schnit, the whole schnit, and nothing but the schnit. 😜
They have perogy poutine, Gyro, and more – those dishes are very affordable and are quite tasty. In summer I can scoot for pickup in my pj’s (ever classy), and I love it.
They also have a great breakfast menu before 11:30am so check it out and tell them Jason sent you! (and they will say who? lol..😂)
This Christmas we’re watching “Somewhere in Time”, a movie from 1980 featuring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, its a romantic movie about a man who travels back in time for the woman he loves… this woman (Elise) has seen men before perhaps but never been truly loved, loved for herself not for fame or money or status – just for who she is… that is the only love that is worth having. And in the movie you see how affected she is, once she experiences it – things will never be the same, and she will never get it back.
From his perspective, he risks everything he has and everything he is for a chance to be with her; not to own her or possess her like a trophy but rather as someone he loves and wants the best for – and for a time, he does… I don’t want to give too much of the plot away.
Personally I think a person who doesn’t fight for love like that, doesn’t deserve it – if its a joke to you, than your the joke. I think most people never find that kind of love, so I think if you do; you should hold onto it with everything you have and don’t throw it away for your own pride.
I’m a bit of a romantic fool which is kind of hard to believe because that is a very different and unexpected side to me, and I find this movie to be great and also sad. If you have a chance to watch it – check it out!
Have a great Christmas!
Jason
