Spare Time

I used to read a lot of books in my spare time, actually I read everything, cereal boxes, instructions, Child Craft, a whole library of books really… growing up my parents had an entire library of books and I enjoyed reading immensely.

Unlike when I was younger; there isn’t time to read like I used too, not that I don’t want too, but my time is very limited and I don’t want to read for a short time, when I get into a book, I want to devour it.

I’ve moved to listening to audiobooks more instead of reading (of normal books), it allows me to do more walking or just have my eyes closed and relax. Currently I’m listening to Midnight by Dean Koontz. So far its totally awesome.. it started off with a weird voice, almost like ai, and then it switched to a much better, hopefully human narrated voice. If you listen to this audiobook – you won’t be disappointed, I think its great.

Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors, my wife’s sister Romelda – when she was alive, traded books with me often, we were very different but in that one area we shared a love of reading.

With Audible you can get 3 months at .99cents per month and then it changes to something like $15 or so per month with 1 free audiobook of your choice per month. I kind of think it’s a no brainer because you can listen to it from anywhere.

My earbuds are purple Raycons and they are awesome, they also have a microphone so that I can talk with hardware/software vendors when dealing with network or application issues.

Gotta go, my coffee break is almost over…. I hope all of you had a great New Year!

Jason
