My blood boils hot when I see an injustice happening – especially to women and children, or seniors, disabled people, etc. I think that is a fairly common reaction from the lens of a real man. Women wouldn’t want that injustice as well and someone needs to step up and do something to right the wrong in the movie.

In general men and women have different reactions to confrontation, now – not all men fight, and not all woman back off – but typically woman strike back in a more passive aggressive manner. While most men strike back in a direct or physical manner much more quickly than your average woman. Understand I’m not saying here – what is right or wrong, I’m just highlighting the approach, men tend to be directly confrontational, women tend to deal with it otherwise.

Women also tend to enjoy rom coms more than most men do, it’s just how we are wired by God. And I believe that in a relationship – men and women balance each other out, we both have something the other one doesn’t. Not to say there isn’t exceptions but in general I think most people would agree with most of what I’ve just said.

So it blows my mind when a movie that is decidedly more feminist and the lead actress has verbally dissed on men, are shocked when the small minority of women (their target audience) don’t watch it – who is too blame? Of course, the problem is misogynistic men. Now, hold on for a second. Hollywood is basically saying – we are not making this superhero movie for it’s target audience (men) and when the audience we make it for (women who like superhero movies) don’t watch it – its a man’s fault.

As a white male, I’m being sick and tired of being blamed for things that aren’t my fault, also – I don’t like being accused of misogyny. The definition of that is a deep seated hatred or contempt of women, I certainly don’t feel that way. If I dislike a woman – it’s not because she is a woman per se. I don’t think women are less capable than men, it’s much more that we are simply just different. It seems these days that a feminist woman has to be rude, condescending, arrogant, and abrasive to be strong, and if you as a man don’t enjoy that type of “strength” then you must be a hardcore misogynist. Uh, no – I don’t like anyone with those qualities, and I don’t want to see those qualities in myself either. *Just a word to the wise… giving someone the finger doesn’t make you strong… adults talk things out when they disagree.

A truly “strong” person stands up for what’s right even when it hurts them, they hold fast to doing the right thing even if it costs them, especially when it costs them. Sometimes holding your tongue and withholding words of anger is a type of strength. Letting your kid make a mistake when it’s the only way they are going to learn is a type of strength. Following God and letting go of your own choices is a type of strength – I’m not weak, it would be much easier to live my life my way, following my own sinful desires.

I find what Hollywood portrays as strength is rarely that at all.. when all you see is racism against your own people- maybe you’re the real racist, when all you see is misogyny of your own sex, maybe you’re the real bigot. In other words.. when you’re a hammer, everything else starts to look like a nail. Maybe you’re reading into the situation what you want to see, and not how it really is.

When I go see a movie, I don’t want agendas’ being pushed down my throat, I love seeing strong women (e.g. Ripley from Aliens), and I love seeing a dramatic battle of good vs evil. Hopefully someone in the industry finally starts to listen to it’s core audience and starts making movies for their target demographic instead of blaming them for Hollywood’s appetite for feminism & wokism.

Jason

I’ve written a lot about technology and faith, now I wanted to speak my mind on the current state of Hollywood movies and the general agenda and toxicity being pushed down our throats.
