What Makes the Sunflower Expo at A Maze In Corn So Special?
Located just a short, easy drive west of Blumenort in Saint Adolphe, A Maze In Corn Click to open side panel for more information is celebrated across the province for its incredible seasonal farm attractions. While many of us know it for the famous corn maze and fall pumpkin displays, its August sunflower installation is truly a must-see masterpiece.
Spread across 8 expansive acres, the Sunflower Expo features a stunning variety of sunflowers planted in wide, winding paths. Here are the highlights of what you can look forward to during our afternoon outing:
1. Scenic Tram Rides & 8 Acres of Blooms
Your visit begins with a breezy, open-air tram ride that transports you directly out to the sunflower fields. Stepping off into the 8-acre field feels like entering a living postcard, surrounded by thousands of golden blossoms reaching up toward the big Manitoba sky.
2. Fresh Cut Sunflowers & Custom Bouquets
Every Sunflower Expo ticket includes a fresh-cut sunflower to bring home with you. If one bloom is not enough, guests are welcome to bring a vase, mason jar, or bucket from home to snip and assemble their own custom sunflower bouquets right in the field.
3. Picture-Perfect Photo Stations
Throughout the sunflower rows, you will find charming rustic photo stops designed specifically to capture memories. The natural lighting among the tall yellow heads creates the perfect setting for group photos, portraits, and keepsake snapshots.
4. Concessions & Refreshments
After strolling through the fields, you can relax in the shade and enjoy a variety of treats at the farm concessions, including fresh-squeezed lemonade, snacks, or specialty cold drinks to round out your visit.
Practical Tips for Attendees & Drivers
To make the most of our group trip, keep these helpful planning tips in mind:
- Footwear for Farm Trails: The expo trails wind through natural field terrain and woodchips. Wear comfortable running shoes, flat boots, or walking sandals rather than dress shoes.
- Sun & Weather Essentials: Summer afternoons can bring plenty of sunshine. Don’t forget your sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle.
- Shears & Containers: If you plan to build a bouquet, packing a sturdy container with a bit of water and a pair of clean garden snippers will make transporting your flowers home easy and mess-free.
- Carpooling from Blumenort: Gathering at the church parking lot by 1:00 PM allows us to share rides, chat on the way down PR 311, and save on parking space at the farm entrance.
