One Very Powerful Movie

I watched the movie Nefarious on Prime Video yesterday – its a movie from 2023 and has a 1h 37min runtime. It is one of the most powerful movies I’ve ever seen, I can’t believe that it isn’t plastered all over Hollywood – but I think its the underlying message (that God is real, that evil is real) has taken this incredible movie and had it not receive the attention it so clearly deserves.

In a nutshell a convicted killer (Edward Wayne Brady) needs to be cleared as “sane” in order to be executed for his crimes. Which is kind of odd when you think about it, but anyway, the killer is played by Sean Patrick Flanery (who I don’t even know as an actor) and his performance is just unreal – he is such a good actor – just wow.

There will be some spoilers – so you may want to watch the movie before continuing to read this post.. :/

The reason I find this movie so powerful is because it is so incredibly accurate, we tend to frame things in a modern lens, but mankind really hasn’t changed at all over the last 3500 plus years. In regards to sin, we still do what we want, hurt who we want, and tell ourselves its not a big deal.

I think if you were thousands of years old, you would see that people do that same things they’ve always done – just in a modernized fashion. When the psychiatrist Dr. James Martin (played by Jordan Belfi) talks to Edward, he tells him how much man has progressed and changed since ancient times, but Edward (possessed by the demon Nefariamus) knows that it isn’t true – its old sins dressed in new clothes.

The movie has gotten some terrible reviews and that’s to be expected, some reviewers thought that the movie pushed Christianity down peoples throats, remember however – its the people that hate Christians who say that… first off – the movie is primarily between a killer and an atheist (neither of which are Christian obviously) and secondly – nobody forced you to watch this movie.. if the same movie was pushing the homosexual and trans agenda(s) then it would be liberating – however when the movie speaks accurately about abortion, then its pushing agendas…. typical hypocrisy on display.

The demon goes on to describe how people have been desensitized by media, movies, and that people don’t even notice when they are stepping into evil behavior because in essence, they have been boiled like a frog – done slowly so they don’t even realize what’s happening until it is too late.

The movie also accurately portrays how the entire satanic realm is not only against Christianity, but against all humanity – this comes from the line “all of us against all of you” – that line stated from a demon to a human but really meant for humanity.

In an Atheistic viewpoint, Christians are just stupid and naive, holding onto values that don’t mean anything in a world where we decide how we live and what we want – which makes sense, if and only if God does not exist – which is why they (the secular world) try so very hard to deny the existence of God – even Satan doesn’t do that.

In a Christian world, its not about a viewpoint – its about reality and God’s will, its about the struggle of the flesh against sin, and overcoming evil – in a world that doesn’t believe evil even exists. What if there was a spiritual realm where the battles for men and woman’s souls were taking place at personal level every second of every day? It would account for a lot of beliefs that are floating around today – those beliefs make it sound like they will let you be your “true self” when really those beliefs would have you mutilate your body… its a trojan horse attack, on the outside it looks empowerment, on the inside it’s a strike against God, with you as the weapon.

But don’t ever take my word for it… I’d like to leave you with this:

NIV: Ephesians 6:12
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
