What do you stand for?

I’ve been a Christian for quite a while… I’ve made more mistakes than most I’d say – and I can’t justify my sin or call it anything other than what it is.

Most of us have jobs, and we live in an apartment or house.. we have a certain amount of personal investment in this world. I’ve discovered why it was so hard for me to be a good Christian. I know that Jesus died for our sins… most of us know that, locally I’d be surprised if most of us haven’t gone to Sunday School when we were kids or a bible college or some type of study or course in regards to God’s word.

But that will never be enough… “why is that?” you might ask, well Satan knows more about the bible than any of us and is he not still Satan? We need to be obedient but we need even more than that – the reason why we have so many problems being a good Christian(s) is that we don’t live in the new world.

What is the new world? As the scripture says – we are in the world as Christians but not of the world – we try to meet certain beauty standards, dress a certain way, post pics and show how integrated we are in our world. We watch TV shows and listen to messages about diversity, inclusivity, and equity.

And we need to stand against those things – you heard me right. I’m not saying we can all go straight John the Baptist; I’m saying that we need to stop trying to conform this world so that we can accept it. We also can’t conform our beliefs to match sexual and gender policies.

I personally stand against every single thing that represents the LGBT+ agenda, I stand against gay parenting, lesbian & other gay behavior, men dressing as women, the enforcement of pronouns that do not match up to the biological sex of the person the pronoun is used with, I also stand against every deviant sexual behavior including lusting after people that are not your spouse, flirting with your speech or body, obviously every type of pedophilia, and any marriage that is not between a bio man and a bio woman. *When I say stand against – I mean I will never accept any of those things as being behaviors I will engage in, I will provide no support to those agenda’s, and I will fight tooth and nail to keep those things away from my life, my family, and most importantly – I will never give any indication that those are acceptable practices in the body of Christ. My sin is not acceptable – those sins are not acceptable and they never will be.*

Those things are sinful, I’m not a bigot – and I’m not scared or phobic, I am talking about Jesus’s expressed will for our lives, our lives cannot have those things in it, and as Christians – we can not accept those things. We can not tolerate those things. You might ask “Jason, why do you feel that way?”.

We as Christians, and as Mennonites – have been neutered from freedom of expression.. Most people are not allowed to talk about Jesus at work – and if someone asks you what you believe, most of the time is only so they can use your answer against you – exactly how the pharisees would try to trick Jesus because they hated him on account of jealousy. I’m not saying to hate anyone, by all means – pray for them, love them, and want the best for them but you can not frame that behavior as being acceptable or moral in the lens of Christianity. And you need to say that with full authority and clarity, We have the right to express our beliefs, and not just a belief but a directive from God himself.

This is exactly why we can’t be “of the world” – the moment we get too comfortable in the world – we start to partake in the ways of the world, it starts small and we become immune to things that are evil, such as using God’s name in vain, watching videos that are not appropriate, and we keep moving into the world’s views and away from the light of God’s word.

I had a dream the other night that I was fighting with a demonic force. it was very powerful and it wanted my soul. It scared me and I was physically tired after that experience. The truth is the devil wants all our souls – from a non Christian perspective that might sound crazy. But it’s true – this isn’t just a physical battle for our lives, marriages, and kids – it is a battle for the eternal state of the people you love and even for yourself.

We need to stop caring about Facebook, Instagram, or what other people think of us.. those are frivolous & trivial things that don’t matter in the slightest when weighed against the eternal fate of people’s souls.

The only reason I’m writing this post is because for people like me – I needed a wakeup call and maybe this is your wake up call. Put away your foolish sin – the lives of your kids depend on it.
