More Fun at Home

I’ve had an incredible couple of weeks.. from a business & personal perspective. I pushed myself pretty hard to achieve as much as possible and it really all worked out. 🙂

Now, I am tired – I need to chill. I’ve been playing a game I installed a little while ago – its called Broken Sword 5 – the serpent’s curse. It was released back in 2013 so it’s really old but I am amazed how well it stands up graphically. On my under powered Linux laptop (running Steam) – it actually runs great – the type of graphics it uses still look sharp and from that perspective it doesn’t feel dated at all to me.

In the game, there is a theft and murder at the art gallery, a seemingly insignificant painting is stolen and signs point to a possible inside job. I’m not very far into the game but I’m loving it.

Here is a scene from the game..

Another guilty pleasure of mine is listening to audio stories… I have an addictive personality and when I was younger I watched soap operas (my favorite was Passions with Tabitha and Timothy – pictured below).

I don’t watch soap opera’s anymore but I do listen to Pocket FM – Shadow Billionaire. The stories can get kind of corny but they are romantic and have violence, it’s a mix of action & really bad guys that try crazy BS, just like a real soap opera except these Pocket FM stories move a little faster.

I think the truth is I’m addicted to drama as long as that drama isn’t part of my own personal life.. lol. :). I don’t know why but I like edgy, dark, and dangerous stories. I remember watching a soap opera when I was a little kid and these armed terrorists stormed a rich & powerful families mansion (i think) and one of the terrorists fell in love with a female hostage, he protected her from his posse and their love became more important to them than the rest of their lives – for some reason – I was totally thrilled by that story, it was exciting and dangerous, two people from different worlds somehow drawn together against their better judgement and in complete disregard to other people’s expectations. I’ve never watched anything more compelling to me.

  • New Audiobook

I downloaded a new audiobook last month and just can’t get into it. Some books grab you quickly right in the beginning. The last one I got is a dud, I’m not even going to review it or anything, it would be torturous to listen to a story you just can’t get into. Now I’ve…

I recently finished installing privacy screen(s) on the front of my house… we have a lot of strangers driving past and my kids don’t like the fact that anyone driving by can see into every window we have at the front – it is a very visible location near the stop sign, so I put…
